West Coast Players will hold auditions for A Hotel on Marvin Gardens, Sunday August 25 and Monday August 26th at 7 pm at the theatre.   Production dates are November 8-24, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

“My life is like this board game,” quips one of the characters in A Hotel on Marvin Gardens, and there you have the essence of Nagle Jackson’s sparkling comedy.  The smart interplay of characters marks Jackson’s comic riff on the savagery in the corporate world.  Set on a private island in Long Island Sound, the play revolves around an annual April Fool’s day game of Monopoly.  As the banter becomes more ironic and perilous, the game becomes a symbol of the larger power plays among the characters.

Director Mary Kay Cyrus is looking to cast:

K.C.  (40s-50s): Central character, powerful owner of ME magazine, charming at first but the personification of her magazine title.

BO (40s-50s) publisher and obedient lover of KC

HENRY (30s-50s) magazine’s emotional, about-to-be-fired editor

ERNA (40s-50s) a bit ditzy, the magazine’s eccentric new restaurant critic

ROSE (20’s) a stranded school teacher who interrupts the party, a bit salty vocabulary

No performers paid.

Auditions will be cold readings from the script.
